Types of Volunteering at the Hot Springs Village Animal Welfare League
Animal Care Worker
Animal Care Worker
These volunteers take thorough care of the cats and dogs making sure they are ready to meet their public. They give food as prescribed in the afternoon and tend to cats’ and dogs' needs.
Dog Walker
Animal Care Worker
Dog walkers come in twice a day, morning and afternoon, to walk the dogs and give them some lovin’.
Cat Care Worker
These volunteers come in around noon to give each cat individual attention, brushing, and cuddling.
Guest Relations
GRs are the face of the AWL to the public. They are seasoned volunteers who greet and assist visitors, plus answer phone inquiries about AWL’s services.
Pet Photography
Volunteers take appealing photos & videos of our pets for promotion on Petfinder and Adopt-a-Pet.
Computer Support
[All entry can be done at home] Schedulers contact available volunteers via email to maintain the monthly calendar; Facebook editors post available pets and Happy Tails of adoptions; Volunteers send email alerts as a lost pet email service to inform those in and around Hot Springs Village of others’ lost pets in our area.

AWL’s Adoption Center is housed in part of the Village Animal Shelter and is the temporary home for many of our adoptable pets. They have been vetted, sterilized, and deemed adoptable. AWL volunteers are crucial in the care and socialization of our cats and dogs until they find their forever home. Complete the Membership Application, marking your volunteering interests and we will contact you soon!
