Our mission is to reduce the number of unwanted puppies and kittens that ultimately end up in shelters or as strays. The AWL operates four low-cost two-day clinics a year for low-income pet owners in communities surrounding Hot Springs Village. We also use a voucher system to send clients to two local veterinarians throughout the year.
Nearly 7,500 cats and dogs have been sterilized to date!
Thank you all so much for a very successful May clinic a the Mountain Pine Volunteer Fire Station. A total of 80 animals were sterilized: 51 dogs and 29 cats. This is especially impressive since Dr. Joanna McManus worked without a vet tech on Tuesday due to a family health issue.
We are in our 14th year of hosting the mobile clinics and the volume of animals at the clinics never seems to slow down.
Our next clinic will be held Sept. 8 & 9 at Fountain Lake.
Many of you have been volunteering all these years and your dedication and enthusiasm for this program is truly impressive, as is the support of the AWL Board.
Thank you all again for your hard work and enjoy your summer!
