Our mission is to reduce the number of unwanted puppies and kittens that ultimately end up in shelters or as strays. The AWL operates four low-cost two-day clinics a year for low-income pet owners in communities surrounding Hot Springs Village. We also use a voucher system to send clients to two local veterinarians throughout the year.
Nearly 8,000 cats and dogs have been sterilized to date!
At our recent Paron clinic in November, 100 animals were spayed and neutered. Also, 33 previously sterilized animals received testing and vaccinations at the Wednesday afternoon shot clinic. This was all made possible by the very generous grants received from the Saline County Quorum Court for the benefit of Saline County pet owners. Many thanks to them and especially Saline County Justice of the Peach Keith Keck. Thank you to all our volunteers, and a special shout-out to those who did double and triple duty during the three day clinic. The vet staff of Ozark Mountain Mobile Spay/Neuter did their usual amazing job.
2022 Clinic Dates
2022 marks our 15th year of hosting the mobile clinics and the volume of animals at the clinics never seems to slow down. Many of you have been volunteering all these years and your dedication and enthusiasm for this program is truly impressive, as is the support of the AWL Board.
The following are the dates for our 2022 clinics:
March 28 & 29 Crows
May 16 & 17 Mountain Pine
September 12 & 13 Paron
November 14 & 15 Fountain Lake
About the Clinics
There are four, two-day clinics held annually at four area locations in partnership with Dr. Joanna McManus, DVM and Ozark Mountain Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic, a mobile clinic to help pet owners in need with low-cost sterilization for their pets.
