Candid's highest level of transparency is the Platinum Seal of Transparency, which is a recognition that an organization shares important information with the public about its goals, strategies, and achievements, and has demonstrated our
commitment to transparency. In order to be awarded the Candid Platinum Transparency Seal, HSV AWL is required to meet Candid's strict requirements for transparency on an annual basis. Candid is the premier source of nonprofit information. To earn the seal, organizations must update their Candid Nonprofit Profile with extensive information on all facets of our organization and the work we are able to do for animals.

The HSVAWL is proud to announce that its strong financial health and ongoing effectiveness and reliability have helped it earn a Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator. This rating designates the AWL] as an official “Give with Confidence” charity, indicating that our organization is using its donations effectively based on Charity Navigator’s comprehensive criteria that go beyond financials to reflect the work charities do. Charity Navigator is the nation’s largest charity evaluator, providing donors with thorough and credible ratings of more than 240,000 organizations. Since 2001, the organization has been an unbiased and trusted source of information for more than 11 million donors annually.

The AWL has been named one of Petco's top 100 Adoption Partners in the nation.
Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $375 million in adoption and lifesaving efforts, and the AWL has been the recipient of several grants for our lifesaving work.
BISSEL PET FOUNDATION'S FIX THE FUTURE NETWORK
Since September 2023, Bissell Pet Foundation has impacted more than 45 shelters and clinics, spaying and neutering nearly 13,000 cats and dogs. The AWL is extremely excited to be part of this network that provides 140 relief veterinarians that spay and neuter pets in 14 states every day.

and receives no funds from POA.
• We are supported entirely from our modest membership
fees, donations, grants, and fundraisers.
• AWL typically cares for 550+ cats and dogs every year in
our shelter, and even more with our Foster Parent program.
• Most of our funds pay for veterinary care to prepare pets
for adoption.
• Our spay/neuter programs help low-income families in
Garland and Saline Counties.
